Performances and Workshops

Workshops

In addition to the regular classes we run specialist workshops in different dance styles to add enrichment to the regular dance provision we provide. Specialist teachers run workshops in Spanish, Street Dance, Contemporary Dance and Mime. Previous students of the Nydza School of Dance whom now dance professionally also come back and teach workshops for the students. Parents will be notified with details as they occur. Students from primary level are encouraged to attend workshops.
We also run performing arts workshops which enable our students to receive an all round preparation for a possible future in the West End.
Due to the length of the workshops, the students have a space where they are able to have lunch and have a rest between the classes.

Choreography Competition and Awards

The School has an annual awards ceremony for various aspects of student progress in dance.  The presentation is held in conjunction with the annual Choreography Competition, which all students are encouraged to enter.  The Choreography challenges the student’s ability to perform and choreograph their own dance with the support of the Principal.

Parents are invited to attend this event which is held at a local theatre, where they can see both the Choreography Competition and the Awards Ceremony.  Tickets for this event are sold through the school.

Shows

Occasionally the school will stage a production for the public or other outside bodies.  Students will then be requested to attend rehearsals.  Please inform the Principal as soon as possible if, for any reason, your child will not be available for the show.  Any student who cannot attend rehearsals regularly cannot take part in the show.

The Principal reserves the right to change the timetable for rehearsals in the weeks leading up to a show.
